Spice Dangers

Updated: Sep 22, 2023

THE TASTE OF FOOD

When I was a child, food was so delicious, cooked with just a little salt and pepper. So what happened to the taste of food anyway?

I know, we started adding seasonings that have chemicals and medications into our food. You know, those seasonings that give us that bang pow goodness in our mouth as we eat.

Quick Testimony: One night, my daughter made me aware of the danger in a spice that I used in our dinner. Her warning caused me to check all of the spices in my pantry and cabinets. As I started to look up the unrecognizable ingredients, I panicked and threw out most of my spices. I'll not add the name of the spices I threw out, but below is a list of some of the dangerous ingredients you'll need to look for in the spices in your kitchen, and some of the side effects they cause. Please protect yourself and your family by removing these from your home.

** These are just a few in no particular order. I'll try not to duplicate the harmful ingredients**

Ingredient:

Tricalcium Phosphate= Tricalcium phosphate is produced commercially by treating hydroxyapatite with phosphoric acid and slaked lime.

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Constipation

  • Increased thirst

  • Increased urination

  • Decreased appetite

  • SIDE EFFECTS OF Tricalcium Phosphate= severe nausea, vomiting, or constipation; or. high blood calcium --confusion, tiredness, loss of appetite, increased thirst or urination, weight loss; or. symptoms of a kidney stone --severe pain in your side or lower back, blood in your urine, painful urination

Hydroxyapatite (HA)

We have to remember we're dealing with nanoparticles. was the primary material used in orthopedics and dentistry. Hydroxyapatite

cardiac and respiratory arrest

lung vessels were moderately congested,

“alveoli filled with air”;

“fatty degeneration of the liver”.

seudotubercles in lung,

performing intracavity embolism,

inflammatory cell infiltrate and hyperplasy of stroma cell.”

In lungs, bronchial associated lymphoid tissue proliferation were observed.

In addition to lung inflammation, was found to create free radical damage in the liver.

hydroxyapatite killed liver and kidney cells:

free radical damage in the liver

Hydroxyapatite was also found to damage kidney tissue

resulted in a “vacuolar degeneration of nephric tubule epithelium in the kidney."

able to negatively affect red blood cells and platelets because the nanoparticles stick to the cell membranes:

Studies further demonstrate the induction of oxidative stress and inflammatory changes in cells after treatment with nano-hydroxyapatite.

One study found damaged human DNA in vitro studies

Phosphoric acid, also known as orthophosphoric acid. It is an irritant or corrosive to the skin, eyes, and other mucous membranes of both humans and laboratory animals.

Calcium hydroxide (traditionally called slaked lime) Calcium hydroxide can cause chronic skin dermatitis, desquamation, vesiculation, and ulceration, as well as coughing, fluid in the lungs, and difficult breathing. WARNING! Transport victims immediately to emergency medical facility

Monosodium Glutamate= Its use is still debated. The FDA has received many reports of concerning reactions that people have attributed to foods that had MSG in them. These reactions — called MSG symptom complex — include:

SIDE EFFECTS

  • Headache

  • Flushing

  • Sweating

  • Face pressure or tightness

  • Lack of feeling (numbness), tingling or burning in the face, neck and other areas

  • Quick, fluttering heartbeats

  • Chest pain

  • Feeling sick (nausea)

  • Weakness

Corn Syrup= Both Sucrose and High Fructose Corn Syrup Linked to Increased Health Risks

Consumption Can Lead to Increased Liver Fat, Risk for Type 2 Diabetes

  • Consuming sucrose and high fructose corn-sweetened beverages increases liver fat and decreases insulin sensitivity

  • Decreased insulin sensitivity is a risk factor for Type 2 diabetes

  • Significant changes in liver fat and insulin sensitivity seen in just two weeks of consuming sugary beverages

Consuming sucrose, the more “natural form of sugar,” may be as bad for your health as consuming high fructose corn syrup.

Mono And Diglycerides=

Eating significant amounts of trans fats has been linked to an increased risk of coronary heart disease and stroke.

But, because monoglycerides are a type of fat, eating a lot of foods high in them may not be healthy. Also, many of the foods that include added emulsifiers also contain a lot of saturated and trans fat, such as baked goods and fried foods.

During the manufacturing process, monoglyceride and diglyceride mixtures can also become contaminated with very small quantities of toxins, such as:

  • lead

  • nickel

  • ash

  • cadmium

  • mercury

  • Arsenic

Side effects may include allergic reactions, weight gain, gas, flatulence, and bloating. Maltodextrin …

Red 40= Additionally, both adults and children have reported an upset stomach, migraines, jitteriness, nervousness, and inability to concentrate after a high intake of Red Dye 40. The CSPI released a report that says artificial food dyes pose a “rainbow of risks,” including everything from allergies to cancer.Jun 14, 2016

RED DYE 40 AND THE BRAIN

The brain imaging work at Amen Clinics demonstrates that Red Dye 40 can dramatically affect brain function. Consider the case of Robert, a 15-year-old who underwent brain SPECT imaging at Amen Clinics. SPECT is a functional brain imaging tool that measures blood flow and activity in the brain.

His parents noticed that whenever Robert ate or drank something bright red, his behavior became aggressive and hostile. He would easily cry and storm off in a huff or throw things. They brought him to Amen Clinics to confirm their suspicions that he was reacting to these food additives.

As can be seen on this teen’s SPECT scan, his brain showed remarkable overall increased activity with exposure to Red Dye 40. In the images, blue equals average activity, red equals the top 15% of brain activity, and white equals the top 8% of brain activity.

After removing Red Dye 40 from his diet, Robert’s behavior improved dramatically. His mother strongly believes that their experience is not a unique one and that Red Dye 40 should be completely banned from our food supply.

Polysorbate 60= Safety Issues. Polysorbate 60 can cause detrimental reproductive effects, organ toxicity and cancer in high doses. However, the FDA designated the chemical as safe for limited use in food.

Usage in Food

Polysorbate 60 is used in imitation cream, baked goods and frozen desserts. It works in a similar manner as monoglycerides and diglycerides, but requires smaller amounts. Polysorbate 60 helps whiteners dissolve in coffee, keeps dill oil solubilized in dill pickle jars, prevents baked good from going stale, and prevents oil from desolubizing in artificial whipped cream. Polysorbate 60 is well-known as an additive in the popular snack cakes Twinkies.

Usage in Medicine

Polysorbate 60 is used in medical products, such as cream treatments for acne, and topical treatments for mouth sores, such as Orajel. People trying to stimulate hair growth might use the chemical to break up sebum, which can prevent new hair from growing. Polysorate 60 also is used in some vaginal itch treatments, such as Monistat.

Usage in Cosmetics

Members of the polysorbate family aid in the combination of ingredients that are usually insoluble. Due to the prevalence of water and oil in cosmetic products, polysorbates are extensively used. They also reduce the surface tension of creams and liquids, which aids in the process of emulsifying. Polysorbate 60 is used in numerous cosmetic products, including shampoos, skin softeners, scented powders, makeup bases and foundations, exfoliants, sunless tanners and anti-aging creams.

Modified Corn Starch= Conclusion: ADiSP modified starch can increase breath hydrogen and produce loose stools. Sorbitol and fructose aggravate the malabsorption, in some cases leading to frank diarrhea.

Is modified corn starch MSG? monosodium glutamate. It also has names such as. modified corn starch or modified food starch.Dec 9, 2017

Is modified corn starch bioengineered? IF the ingredients you use—such as corn starch, canola oil, and soy lecithin—contain detectable modified genetic material, then they are considered bioengineered food ingredients and do require a bioengineered food disclosure.

Potassium Sorbate= Possible side effects: Allergic reactions, Nausea, Diarrhea, Nutrient loss in food.Jul 16, 2015

Can potassium sorbate upset your stomach?

Those who consume large amounts of food containing potassium sorbate may suffer from diarrhea which can cause them to deplete the nutrient value in their system. In lesser cases, the patient may suffer from nausea as your body becomes overwhelmed with the amount of potassium in your system.

Is potassium sorbate a carcinogen? The Environmental Working Group (EWG) gives it a low-risk score regarding the potential to cause cancer as well as effects on developmental and reproductive toxicity. The EWG gives it a medium-high score as a skin irritant.

**Last Testimony: A few weeks ago, my daughter ordered a couple of the most talked about dishes that African restaurants serve. After we ate, we both agreed that we didn’t see what all the hype was about. In the middle of the night I had a revelation. It came to me that because we’ve spent so many years eating fast foods and possibly fake foods, even in fine dining, all likely seasoned with many of the harmful seasonings I mentioned earlier, that our pallet is no longer used to the taste of actual food itself. We are more addicted to the chemicals and medications used in food. It was also revealed to me that when we cook, we must use fresh flavour enhancers like onions and garlic, herbs etc. If we are going to use dry seasonings, we must use one ingredient dry seasonings such as salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, and so on… you get it. If we see an ingredient that we don’t recognize as all natural, toss it, or don’t even purchase it. That’s the key, we have to know what it is that we are consuming.

Please share your thoughts with the family.
